The truth is that not everyone has the cash to splash and it is also true to say that some have it, and still don’t want to spend it on kitchen extravaganza.
A modest home requires a modest kitchen? Not so, or at least not necessarily so, because all kitchens should be better than merely functional. However, it is equally fair to say that budgets do matter, and if you own a basic rental home, you may want to consider a new, basic kitchen.
This won’t cost an arm and a leg. But it will definitely change the house for the better.

We have recently finished a kitchen remodel cost job, one that fits into the EL CHEAP group in as much as money is concerned. By that, we infer that it still a great kitchen at any price.
HOW WHERE WHY WHAT.
HOW? This job came about because the kitchen had to be replaced.
WHERE? One of those seaside suburbs of Melbourne. Involves travel, but so what?
WHY? The kitchen had been neglected. There were two significant water penetration problems. One of these was a gap between the sink and the benchtop. The other was external, the result of a poor maintenance program.
WHAT? Sure the owner wanted to keep the kitchen and just fix it up. But once you really see the problem at its worst? You do realise the reality and the gravity: rotted timber and soggy plaster. Mould and Mildew – the two sad sisters of poor home health.

A fix up? No way Jose!
The team conspired in a little demolition, and pulled out the old kitchen. We replaced timbers, plaster, sinks and appliances. Our guys did a fantastic job of waterproofing to upgrade the old house, one that was too early a build to benefit from the advent of WATERPROOFING.
We got our kitchen people on the rack to get a great price that we could pass on. Oh, what a lovely new sink, a new oven and hotplates, and a new rangehood.

Everything is squeaky clean. It all looks so new and so fine.
And what about the cost? Well, let us tell you that the happy owners did not have to pay $20,000, nor $19,000, and not even $18,000. No the full cost for this fantastic kitchen was even lower, and this is despite the fact that we had structural issues, and a big deal of water ingress, all requiring a more modern approach to stopping the wicked water.

A kitchen built to last, and to be frank, an outstanding victory for the modernity of the house, a classic eighties beauty that just needed the loving touch.

The kitchen is EL CHEAPO’s big brother. What about the money, honey? Yes, it is fair to say that the cost quickly climbs well past double and even triple the cost of EL CHEAPO.
But we are talking about a big kitchen suiting a big dwelling. We are talking about a high-level, very impressive, super-modern kitchen.
So we have deluxe this, and deluxe that, for example: stainless steel benchtops.
